The SERPETTE (one speaks it [sɛʁ.pɛt] / dt. Hippe) is an indispensable tool for all gardeners. Its features are a curved blade that merges into an equally curved handle that gives the hand support when making a pulling cut. The principle is thousands of years old and today it may be adapted to special requirements, but it cannot be improved. The heart of a SERPETTE is its curved blade, which, unlike other knives, is flat forged on one side and is only beveled on the opposite side. Only in this way can it lie flat on the clippings and create a perfect cut. The handle material is made of wenge, a hard-wearing wood that can withstand the stresses and strains.

Care instructions: The knife should be wiped briefly after use and be dry. A drop of oil on the blade prevents corrosion if the knife is not used regularly. Even with excellent care, a patina of its own will develop after a few years. This is not a problem and is one of the characteristics of a carbon steel knife. Many users love this special look, which can only be achieved after several years of use.
