A neighborhood of sailors, paupers, taverns and drunkards: this was the reputation of Bowery Street, a famous street in New York City, in the second half of the 19th century. Located near the harbor in the heart of Manhattan, it is commonly known as "The Bowery". With the opening of trendy nightclubs starting in the 1960s, the mixing of different ethnic groups and the gathering of artists and musicians, the Bowery is now a completely revamped neighborhood. It became the street of hip jazz, punk and new wave. Punk icons like Patti Smith, Blondie and Ramones had their breakthroughs here. Bowery NCY aims to reflect the style that emerged in this neighborhood - starting with a collection of vintage-style washed, pre-ripped and pre-dyed T-shirts. The graphics were inspired by objects, store signs and icons that helped make the neighborhood the birthplace of a new, distinctive style.
