Filson CPO Wool Jac-Shirt - forrest green

The CPO Wool Jac-Shirt is the latest addition to our five-decade-old overshirt, with a design inspired by the heavy wool shirts worn by petty officers.

The U.S. Navy issued heavy wool shirts to its senior officers as early as the 1930s to fill the need for a warm, protective shirt that would serve well in the unforgiving weather at sea. Since the 1970s, Filson has been making heavy wool overshirts for use in the wet and cold Pacific Northwest. It's a natural pairing that just makes sense.

 

This Jac shirt is made from 453 grams of 100% wool, a fabric that has protected us from all weather conditions for centuries. Thanks to its unique fiber structure, wool is moisture repellent and insulating, even when it gets wet. And wool is durable: individual fibers have been subjected to abuse tests and retained their integrity much longer than other natural fibers.The chest pocket flaps close with natural horn buttons to protect contents, and the sleeves are adjustable with buttons. The curved hem allows the jacket to be worn with or without a cuff. A center pleat in the back yoke provides unrestricted movement.
