Filson Lined Tin Cruiser - dark tan
Lined Tin Cloth Cruiser
The classic in the Filson range in a shorter version. Originally designed for hard work in the dense forests, it is still the most robust jacket from Filson. The material is doubled up in the areas that are often subject to wear and tear. The pockets are, unlike the hunting jackets, quite shallow to avoid getting caught in vests worn over them, equipment, or dense undergrowth. The practical jacket, however, also makes a good figure in everyday life, as it has a fairly slim silhouette and is visually a rather unobtrusive outdoor jacket.
Tin Cloth Gewebe
The Tin Cloth fabric used by Filson is called Signature Fabric because it belongs to a material that has been processed for over 100 years and is part of Filson's DNA. The very tightly woven cotton material provides ideal protection from the elements. It is extremely rugged, abrasion resistant, windproof, and even virtually seals itself when it rains by swelling the fiber. Even flying sparks posed no problem, making it the ideal work wear material in terms of its overall properties. An additional, easy-to-apply oil or wax sealant makes the fabric even more hard-wearing. The subject of waxed cotton is also known from Europe and is especially popular in England. It is therefore interesting to note that the Tin Cloth material originally used by Filson was imported from British Millerain. British Millerain itself is a traditional English manufacturer from Yorkshire that was founded in 1880 and initiated the breakthrough of waxed cotton with its patented machines. At Filson, Tin Cloth fabric is still widely used in all product areas, as it is suitable for bags, jackets, pants and many accessories. Tin Cloth can be used dry, as well as oiled. With many products, a Tin Oil Wax care product is included to renew a waterproofing if necessary.
